Student Code of Conduct
The Student Code of Conduct outlines the
expectations for all students to maintain a positive academic environment that
fosters learning, respect, and discipline. By enrolling at IG Government
College, Tohana, students agree to adhere to the following principles:
1.
Academic Integrity
a. Students
must maintain honesty and integrity in all academic work.
b. Cheating,
plagiarism, or use of unfair means in examinations or assignments is strictly
prohibited.
c. Attendance
in lectures, practicals, and tutorials is compulsory as per university norms.
2.
Discipline and Behaviour
a. Students
must conduct themselves respectfully within the college premises.
b. Use
of abusive language, violence, or disruptive behavior will result in
disciplinary action.
c. Mobile
phones must be kept on silent mode in classrooms and labs; misuse during class
is not allowed.
3.
Respect for Staff and Peers
a. Students
must show due respect to faculty, staff members, and fellow students.
b. Any
form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying—including on the basis of
caste, gender, religion, or background—is strictly forbidden.
4.
Dress Code and Identity
a. Students
should wear decent and appropriate clothing reflecting the dignity of the
institution.
b. Carrying
a valid college Identity Card at all times on campus is mandatory and must be
produced when requested by authorities.
5.
Anti-Ragging Policy
a. Ragging
is a punishable offense under law. The college follows a zero-tolerance policy
towards ragging.
b. Any
student found involved in ragging will face strict disciplinary and legal
action, including possible suspension or expulsion.
6.
Use of College Property
a. Students
are expected to respect college property and infrastructure.
b. Any
damage to college property—furniture, equipment, library books, etc.—will be
considered a serious offense and must be compensated.
7.
Participation and Conduct in College
Activities
a. Students
are encouraged to actively participate in academic and extracurricular
activities.
b. While
representing the college in events or competitions, students must maintain proper
decorum and discipline.
8.
Substance Abuse
a. Consumption
or possession of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products on campus is strictly
prohibited.
b. Violators
will face disciplinary action and may be reported to law enforcement
authorities.
9.
Grievance Redressal
a. Students
may approach the college’s Grievance Redressal Cell for resolving academic or
personal concerns in a respectful and confidential manner.
b. Retaliation
against those who report grievances or violations is not tolerated.
1. A Women cell for preserving women rights.
2. An Anti-Raging form is made compulsory for prohibiting ragging in the campus.
3. Campus is declared as Tobacco Free Zone.
4. Student Grievances redressal cell.
